Diploma in Professional Education Prospectus in Cebu Schools

Non-education degree graduates are allowed to take Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) board exam provided that they finished at least the minimum required education units. This reminds me of my high school public teachers who were a graduate of AB History, BS Biology, and BS Physics. I also knew someone who graduated AB Political Science.

My uncle, a public teacher, told me about this opportunity. So, I went out and visit the schools offering Diploma in Professional Education in Cebu City. I learned that the Diploma in Professional Education Program is a one year course or equivalent to two semesters in schools like University of San Jose- Recoletos and Southwestern University. If you finished all the subjects offered during the first semester and get a passing mark, you are eligible to apply for the LET board exam. A diploma will be given only to those who finished the two-semester program which requires practice teaching during the second semester.

USJ-R DPE Requirements

A Josenian graduate or a USJ-R alumni who wants to get DPE and never studied in another school after graduation will have no hassle during enrolment. The college does not require TOR and Good moral. Just visit the College of Education Chairperson office in St. Ezekiel Moreno building in USJ-R, Basak, Cebu City.

However, if you have studied in another school, you have to request your credentials from your school. For Non-Josenian graduates, I need to ask first since I was consumed by the idea that it is easy to enroll in DPE program if you are an alumni.
