I enrolled in TESDA Regional Training Center in Cebu without prior knowledge about Automotive Servicing. We don't have a car and I never had an experience looking at an auto engine before. But I dreamed to own a car after getting a stable job someday. Since I don't have a job yet, it would be better if I use my time for training and seminar to learn new things. But this time, I prefer to go technical and practical. Learning technical courses is very important for personal use as well as it is a career-wise decision. When the right time comes, I will have a car. When that time comes, I will know how to repair it or at least do a tune-up. These are only my simple reasons. Later on, I learn that I love this trade more than before.
The training was under STEP (Special Training for Employment Program), I learned on the first day that this kind of training is just a short term program. Well, TESDA courses are short right? Our training is only 14 days with 8 hours per day. The good news is that we are TESDA Scholar under STEP and that means we will receive an allowance and tools that can be use in our chosen trade.
Hands-on |
The 14-day training of the automotive servicing NCI in TESDA RTC-7 was refreshing to me since I enjoyed it so much. Training in TESDA is a hands-on approach which really fits in my learning style. Aside from learning how to do an auto engine tune-up, I met new acquaintances and we became good friends.
After the training, we had a vacation. We only go back to take the assessment examination on the scheduled day. Luckily, we passed!
